Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville for Robert Monroe “Bob” Usery of Grafton.
Mr. Usery, 72, died January 27.
He was born May 5, 1946 in Des Arc, Missouri, the son of the late William Robert and Reta (Phillips) Usery. He married the former Berneta “Neta” Nairn in 1969.
He was a graduate of Clearwater RI High School in Piedmont, Missouri and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Mr. Usery was stationed at the NIKE Military Base at Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton, where he met his wife. In 1967, he served in Vietnam and was discharged in 1968.
After leaving the Army, he attended Moler Barber School, graduating in 1969 and worked as a successful barber for many years. He later moved on to Schoeneweis Tool and Die, working for 16 years before working for the City of Grafton from where he eventually retired.
Surviving is his wife; two children; two grandchildren; two sisters; a brother and a special aunt and uncle.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton with full military honors.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice in care of the funeral home.
